  5.   What it is?
  6. Squash it! is a sample processor with over forty different 
  7. effects and tools for manipulating your sounds. As well as 
  8. featuring standard tools that you'd expect to find in any sample 
  9. editor (clipboard, undo, reverse, and so on), Squash it! also 
  10. features a range of studio effects (compressor, harmoniser, 
  11. delays, overdrive, and rotary speaker simulator), synthesis 
  12. processes (LFO, envelope shaper, and various filters), and 
  13. special effects never used before (blur, posterise, shuffle, 
  14. shift, mosaic, smooth, expand, granularise, and tile, amongst 
  15. others).
  16.   Use Squash it! to create a whole new sound library from just 
  17. one single sample, and then transfer these sounds to your MIDI 
  18. sampler, or save them as AVR, AIFF, WAV, SPL, or even UWF (if you 
  19. have Snippit Synth!) to use anywhere you like.

  23.   The demo version
  24. This is a partially-working version of Squash it! We've removed 
  25. features such as the MIDI sample transfer, save sample (block and 
  26. clipboard save), and Drum Split, and it will time-out after ten 
  27. minutes of use. But all of the processors work, and you can still 
  28. load in any sample you like, so you can hear what Squash it! is 
  29. capable of doing with your sounds!
  30.   The full version features:
  31. * Saves in AVR, AIFF, WAV, SPL, and Snippit Synth UWF formats
  32. * MIDI sample transfer for MSDS, and Akai S900/950
  33. * Drum split with MIDI file export
  34. * Saves blocks and clipboard as well as whole sample data
  35. * Sample analysis (includes tempo, pitch in Hertz, and length)
  36. * Runs in colour on Falcons and other graphically enhanced Ataris
  37. * Free life-time user support and upgrades
  38. * Boxed, with comprehensive, illustrated manual

  42.   The legal bit
  43. You may post this demo version anywhere, on BBS, FTP, WWW, CD-ROM 
  44. and floppy disk (including magazine cover-mounts), and PD 
  45. libraries. All we ask is that you don't alter any of the files, 
  46. and that all of them remain together. You should have:

  53.   We've tested all of our software thoroughly, but Electronic Cow 
  54. can't be held accountable for losses or damages as a result in 
  55. using and/or mis-using this software. The moral is, don't meddle 
  56. with it, and it'll work fine! Don't move the SYS files from the 
  57. folder, or rename it, else Squash it! will not load.
